It’s in this very natural and invigorating setting, thanks to the proximity of the Atlantic Ocean, that we offer you a relaxing and soothing session for your well-being.

The hammam and sauna are private, allowing you to enjoy a moment of pure intimacy alone, in pairs or with friends.

The spa also boasts a heated indoor pool where you can relax and rediscover the pleasures of water, thanks to invigorating and massaging jets, a micro-bubble mat stimulating the soles of the feet and promoting venous return, and a whirlpool bath for relaxation.

Hammam: the pleasures and benefits of an Oriental steam bath

Hammam, also known as Turkish bath, is an Arabic term meaning “hot water”. First introduced in France several years ago, it is winning over more and more enthusiasts thanks to its recognized benefits.

The origins of the hammam go back to the Orient. In Arabic, it means “that spreads heat” or “hot water”. This is a steam bath at 50°C, saturated with 100% humidity.

The objective?

This prolonged steam bath relaxes every muscle in the body, cleanses the skin and removes toxins from the body.

Whatever the season, the hammam is the perfect place to take a relaxing break from our sometimes stressful daily lives and pamper your skin and body. In short, do yourself good for a few hours.

What’s the difference with the sauna, which is just as well-known and popular?
The sauna is made of resinous wood, and its air, also characterized by long-lasting warmth, is created by hot stones.

Unlike the hammam, the humidity is low.

The hammam ritual generally begins with a short shower, followed by a steam-heated room for relaxation before the treatments continue. The steam, combined with eucalyptus essences whose properties are recognized as soothing and decongestant, helps to clear the mind and let go.

benefits of the hammam

The benefits of the hammam:

  • The hammam is an invitation to relax: it’s an excellent way to unwind, clear your mind and forget your worries.
  • Hot steam has a beneficial effect on the skin: it opens pores, eliminates toxins, soothes muscular pain, opens sinuses and facilitates breathing.
  • The sensation of heat plunges the body into a state of lethargy. The hammam can help you combat sleep disorders. Contrary to what you might think, a cold shower after a hammam is very pleasant and invigorating. You’ll leave the hammam de-stressed, with a real sense of well-being.
  • If you suffer from circulation problems, alternate the hammam with a cold shower to stimulate blood circulation.
  • Remember to drink plenty of water after your session to rehydrate.

Sauna: the pleasures and benefits of a Scandinavian ritual

The sauna is a wellness ritual that originated in Finland. It consists of staying in a room heated to a high temperature for a few moments, then leaving to take advantage of the alternating heat and cold.

The action of heat and cold makes this ritual particularly healthy for the skin, but not only that.

A sauna session has many benefits for body and mind.

Sauna’s effect on the body

On entering the sauna, the body is confronted with a temperature of around 80°c, depending on the type of sauna and the power of the heater used. The cardiovascular system reacts immediately to this temperature, dilating blood vessels and increasing heart rate.

The skin then begins to sweat profusely, pores dilate. The body secretes endorphins which help relaxation.

After 10-15 minutes, leave the sauna for a cold shower or bath. The action of the cold tightens the skin’s pores and revitalizes the body. Then alternate between hot and cold up to three times, remembering to rehydrate well between each sauna session to recover the perspired water. You can lose up to a liter of water during a sauna session.
Unlike the hammam, sauna heat is dry and more intense. It’s best to start the sauna session on the lowest benches to get used to the temperature.

The benefits of the sauna

The action of the heat in the sauna and the various hot-cold passages provide significant benefits for the body:

  • The sauna’s relaxing action: A sauna session is a highly effective way to combat stress and tension. Under the action of heat, the body releases endorphins that promote sleep and relaxation. Sauna bathing just before bedtime helps you sleep better.
  • The purifying action of the sauna: the dry heat of the sauna causes the skin to perspire and its pores to dilate. This sweating helps flush out toxins accumulated by the body.
  • The muscular and cardiovascular action of the sauna: By dilating the blood vessels, the sauna helps the cardiovascular system to function properly. It also helps keep blood pressure down. Finally, the increased speed of blood circulation in the sauna provides rapid relief from muscle aches and pains.
  • Sauna to boost the immune system: the sauna uses heat to create an artificial fever. Artificial fever stimulates the immune system, resulting in increased production of white blood cells and antibodies to fight disease. If practiced regularly, the sauna can even protect against flu epidemics.
  • Skin beauty: By dilating the pores, the sauna allows the skin to evacuate toxins. But it also softens the skin and improves its elasticity. The cold shower then tightens the skin’s pores, improving its appearance.

Aurélie - Sept 2022

Super stay in a family setting I recommend this campsite. A well-maintained facility suitable for all, with friendly, helpful staff. I’ll be back! Not a big fan of camping, though… I loved the fully equipped tent, its spa and all the associated services. All that’s missing is a small mini-market area… Otherwise, nothing to say. A place with a family atmosphere. Bike hire available on site.
